Ingredients for Falafel
1 Cups Dry Chick peas, soaked overnight.
2 Tbsp cleaned fresh parsley
2 Tbsp Cleaned fresh Cilantro
2 Tsp Cumin Powder
2 Tsp Coriander Powder
1 Tbsp All purpose Flour
1 Tbsp Chick Pea flour ( besan)
3 Tbps Panko Bread Crumbs
Lemon juice
Oil to deep fry
Salt to taste
Ingredients for the Tsaziki
2 cups Non-fat greek yogurt
1 cup diced cucumbers
2 tsp lime juice
2 tsp chopped parsley
2 dil (fresh / dry)
Salt and pepper to taste
Procedure for Falafel
Drain the water & Steam the chick peas in a pressure cooker. In a food processor grind the chick peas with parsley, cilantro, salt, cumin, coriander and lemon.
To the ground mix add panko crums, apf and chick pea flour.
Using an ice cream scooper portion falafels. Lightly press them to give the round shape. Deep fry.
Procedure for Tsaziki
Mix all the tsaziki ingredients for the tsaziki and keep aside. It makes a great dip too.
