Chole (Jain - ish)


Well we dont eat onion or garlic at home so all of my recipes are Jain (for the onion garlic part)

Ingredients
5 Cups cooked Garbanzo /Chick Pea (See notes below)
2 Cups Tomatoes
3 Green peppers (Serranos work fine)
1 cup Fresh Coriander/Cilanthro
1 tbsp Garam masala
2 tbsp Chole masala (Most indian stores carry them)
1 tsp Oil
1 tsp Salt
Procedure
Grind Tomatoes, Cilantro (leave some for garnishing) , Green peppers, and some cooked chole.
Adding the cooked chole to the base gives it the consistency that sautéed onions would give.
In a deep pan take the oil. Once oil is hot add the ground paste to the pan and simmer with lid for 5 minutes. You might not notice the oil float (since we are not using much)
Add the cooked beans into the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add the garam masala, chole masala and salt and cook for another 5 minutes.
Garnish with Chopped Cilantro.
