Almond Halwa

Ingredients for Almond Halwa

4 cups Almond meal
1.5 cup granulated organic sugar
2 cups water
2 tbsp milk
3 tbsp ghee
Few saffron strands
Toasted almonds for garnish.

Procedure

Warm the milk , add th saffrion stands and let it soak. This brong out the color and fragrance of saffron.

Roast the almond meal for a few  minutes until it gets a light pink hue. Add the sugar and water.
On low heat, keep stirring until the almond meal gets a golden blanched color (~ 15 mins). Add the saffron milk, ghee. Keep stirring until the ghee is absorbed. Garnish  with toasted almonds.

Enjoy!


If you have a slow cooker, this might be something you can make in it. Add all ingredients except ghee and let it cook for a few hrs.
